Third body found after Md. apartment complex explosion

A third body has been found Friday night after the Silver Spring apartment complex explosion and fire, police said.

Police have not identified the three victims. Their bodies have been transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for autopsy and possible identification.

Early Thursday morning, fire crews were called to the 8600 block of Piney Branch Road at the Flower Branch Apartments for reports of an explosion and fire.

According to WUSA9’s count, at least 5 people are reported missing, including two children.

Officials are still investigating the cause of the incident.

Resident say their gas leak complaints to property management were ignored.
